Frequently Asked Questions

What is Microblading?

Microblading, the most popular form of permanent makeup, is actually an eyebrow tattoo. Instead of the shockingly dark brows you may have seen on your grandma’s face, the modern technique simulates individual hair strokes for a very natural look. Permanent makeup artists use a super fine pen to deposit small amounts of pigment directly under the skin.

How long does it last?

Depending on your skin’s condition, after care, your lifestyle and the technique used, brows will last as long as 1.5-3 years without a color boost.

How often do I need a touch up?

Touch ups are recommended once a year, to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp.

Does it hurt?

A topical anesthetic is used to numb the area before and during the procedure. So there is minimal discomfort associated with the procedure. Actually a lot of our clients fall asleep, then wake up to their dream brows!

How long is the appointment?

The procedure takes about 2.5 hours, including the consultation, before/after pictures, brow mapping, color matching, topical numbing and the actual treatment.

Is there a downtime?

Not really. Redness, if there is any, will disappear within an hour after. You just need to blot them every 1-2 hours and keep them dry for 48 hours after your appointment.

How long does it take to heal?

Healing time varies from individual to individual. Normally it takes about 10-14 days for the scabs to form and flake off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. It can take 4-6 weeks for the pigment to come back and show the healed result.

What’s the process like?

This is a two-step treatment, consisting of an initial session and then a follow up 4-8 weeks after.
During the initial session, we will discuss what style fits you the best, draw the outline and decide on the color. After the topical anesthetic is applied, the pigment is deposited.

During the 4-week follow up session, we will check how your brows healed and address any concerns you may have from the initial treatment, such as pigment loss, minor changes of the color or shape. Since we can go darker but not lighter in shade, and bigger but not smaller in size, we want to be conservative in the first session.
